Fund and asset management · FSC Mauritius
Mauritius fund manager and CIS licensing (FSC)
Mauritius is the established structuring hub for investment into Africa and, historically, India, supported by an extensive treaty network and a fund servicing industry built specifically for cross-border work. Managers are licensed by the Financial Services Commission alongside the vehicles they run.
The regulator
The FSC licenses CIS managers, investment advisers, and the funds themselves, and has strengthened substance and anti-money-laundering supervision substantially following international assessment. Nominal presence arrangements that once passed no longer do.
What the licence permits
Regulated under the FSC Mauritius
- Manage collective investment schemes domiciled in Mauritius
- Provide investment advisory and discretionary services
- Structure African and Indian Ocean investment through a treaty hub
- Access an experienced local fund administration industry
Who it suits
Managers investing into Africa or Asia who need a neutral, well-serviced domicile that institutional investors already recognise.
Market access
Global investor access through recognised fund structures, with treaty-supported investment routes into multiple African markets.
What to weigh
Treaty benefits now depend on demonstrable substance rather than incorporation, so the operating presence has to be genuine. Budget for it from the outset.
We run the Mauritius application end to end
Whether you build from new or acquire an existing licensed entity, BrokLicense handles incorporation, the regulator application, the AML and compliance framework, safeguarding and banking arrangements, and the operating stack. You stay the principal. We do the work, in confidence, and stay on for compliance once you are live.
Cost, capital, and timelines depend on your model and are set out in a first consultation, under NDA, not published here.
